My Very Awesome Skiing Day

Yesterday I had the most fun day of this entire winter. I went to Afton Alps with my dad, Tina, and Michael. We went to all of the fun slopes but I was too scared to do 2 of them. Tina stuck to mostly greens and blues. Here is a map at http://www.skireport.com/dynimages/trailmaps/mid/216.jpg
We skiied all day. It was so fun and at the end of the day we went home. Mom and dad were at a party that was really boring with only one girl my age named Karina. So Tina and I rented a movie at Blockbuster called Julie and Julia. We bought some popcorn and watched it. The movie was about a woman who wrote a blog about cooking all of the recipes in Julia Child's french cookbook in a year. Okay, this post was supposed to be about skiing, but I got off track. Back to skiing. One of my favorite slopes was a trail called the Christmas Trail, but I call it the Christmas Tree Run. My favorite part about it was that it wasn't that short and you could take your speed and for me that was pretty fast. My absolute favorite part to ski on the Christmas Tree Run was the little dip in the beginning that was very steep. At the end of the dip you could jump. The not so good part about yesterday was that all the slopes were kind of icy. But that was okay. Sometime this week I am going to go to Hylands. Sometime this week I am also planning to make a giant snowbear and make chocolate chip cookies and go swimming. I haven't written a single post all winter. I have to write more to make up for that. This is going to be a fun fun week.

Bloodhound

Sorry, but I just finished the first book of this trilogy before I started writing the BBR(Blog Book Reports). So this is the second book of the Beka Cooper trilogy by Tamora Pierce who is an awesome author. So far Beka has just become a Dog(full fledged member of the Provost's guard). She is in a bad situation, she can't seem to find a good partner that works well with her. Right now she is really frustrated with a new partner called Silsbee. She got into a argument with him because along the way to duty he always has to go get a "wee tidbit" or a "sip of cider". When they hear a person screaming for help, he says I'm not falling for"that trick" again. So when Beka finally blows up at him, he says that Beka is not going to be his partner, he refuses to work with her anymore. When Beka gets back, she is depressed because she is going to go back to working with the Dogs she trained with, Clary Goodwin and Matthias Tunstall(weird names huh?). Beka loves working with them, but she is frustrated and a little bit ashamed that she can't seem to work well with anyone. It is also very strange to see three dogs together on duty. The next morning, Beka gets up to the noise of people knocking at her door. She knows that they are Kora, Aniki, Rosto, and Ersken, her closet friends. Once a week, they all have a huge breakfast. Beka says good morning to Pounce, her cat. Pounce is actually a constellation called the Cat. After their breakfast, Beka goes on duty. She comes across a riot when all the citizens of the Lower City are outraged of the fact that prices have gone up on day- old bread. In the riot, they meet some people from Port Caynn who help carry Tunstall to a healing mage when he gets both of his legs broken. After the Bread Riot and a nap, Beka goes outside to stretch her legs and sees a Senior Dog beating a hound. (In this book, dogs are called hounds because that was the way people spoke at that time and if you said dogs, people would be confused with Dogs with a capitol D.) She hates seeing the man beat the hound and finally tells him to stop, even if he is a Senior Dog. The Senior Dog is very angry and he just dumps the dog into Beka's hands. Sergeant Ahuda lets Beka keep the dog, who is named Achoo and Beka had met this dog before. Now Beka takes Achoo to Kora, who is a mage and asks her to help heal Achoo from all the beatings she's had. Beka goes to see Phelan, who was the first handler of Achoo. Phelan tells Beka the rules and commands of the language that Achoo was taught in. Beka tries out Achoo with scents and Achoo sneezed like she was famous for because this do sneezes when she gets a good scent. Goodwin and Beka go to Port Caynn to find research on the silver coles. Silver coles are fake silver coins that are brass covered in a thin sheet of silver, kind of like now day pennies. Beka soon discovers that the rogue Pearl Skinner was behind this crime. She corners Pearl and hobbles her(tied her hands and feet together. When Beka gets back to Corus, she discovers that Sergeant Ahuda is planning to go to a higher position in the Flash District and Goodwin is replacing her. That leaves broken-legged Tunstall partnerless, so Beka is his new partner. Beka finally found someone that she works very well with and is happy.

The Crow

There is a boy who is Maerad's little brother and his name is Hem.  To find out more about Maerad read the first two books in the books of Pellinor.  They are called The Naming and The Riddle, by Alison Croggon.  Hem is in Turbansk avoiding sweltering hot weather in a very important man's garden stealing his fruit.  He is really mad when he sees that there are a bunch of crows attacking another bird so he saves it with Bard magic.  When he brings it home, he talks to it and finds out that it is a crow but it is white.  He names it Irc and takes it in as a pet.  When his Bard mentor Saliman, tells him that Turbansk is at war.  All the other children leave and go to Car Amanrich or whatever you call it.  When they get to the place where all of the Bards that are staying gather, Hem finds a girl named Zelika.  She is stubborn to stay when Saliman tells her to leave.  Zelika wants to avenge her family when the Black Army attacks the house of Il Amanrad(Zelika's family).  One day, some ugly birds attack the city.  They are shocked when they find out that most of the birds are deformed and just dive down and kill themselves.  Hem plays a big part when he calls out to all the birds in Turbansk.  The birds of Turbansk attack the cloud of birds when they try to attack.  They call this the battle of the birds.  They call Hem the Lios Hlaf, which means The white crow in Speech.  Irc is responsible of that name because in the battle of the birds he is the main messenger and spy.  He locates the ugly birds and knows when they are going to attack.  Saliman takes Hem and Zelika to the underground tunnels and that's where they hide until Hared, the first Bard of the Underground Tunnels asks them to become spies.  Saliman doesn't approve of the idea, but doesn't exactly disapprove  of it either.  So they agree and undergo the training of the spies.  One day when they are deep in Black Army territory, Zelika spots one of her brothers in a child army group.  The children are bewitched by the Hulls(some sorcerers that are evil).  Zelika eventually gets captured and Hem goes and gets captured by the Hulls on purpose.  He does it because he wants to look for Zelika.  He eventually has to escape because he can't stand it anymore, and fled deep into the forest.  He meets Irc there, and Irc gives him a little trinket with runes that are very crucial to Maerad's mission, but Hem doesn't know that.  He eventually finds out because an Elidhu named Naynar tells him that.  He meets Saliman in the forest the next day, and finds out that Zelika is dead.  But in the quest for the treesong, Zelika isn't important.  But to Hem, Zelika is the very first friend he's ever had, beside form Maerad, and Saliman.  Hem understands that he will have to be a strong Bard until the very end.

Music

Today we went to listen to music at South View Middle School.  It was the Chamber Music Society of Minnesota that was performing the Camile Saen-Saens animal carnival.  I went with Jessica's family as well.  Jack is annoying......
Well I found out that my favorite ones were Fossils and the Finale and Swan.  I also liked Aquarium.  Somehoe it reminded me of Harry Potter Music.  It was really funny.  You should read this and then listen to all those pieces and then comment.

Just a Normal Saturday

Today is just a normal Saturday.  I had a violin lesson at 10:30.  Then I have a drawing class at 12:45.  The normal class starts at 1:00, but I have to go to Chinese School.  For drawing and Chinese School, I carpool with Cindy and Tommy.  After Chinese School, I carpool with Alan, Kevin, Cindy and Tommy.  Alan, Cindy, Kevin and I all go to the same school, Valley View.  Tommy skipped a grade and is in fifth grade.  He is only nine years old, but is very tall so no one notices.  Tommy is in Mrs. Cavanaugh's class.  I was in Mr. Wuest's class and Alan was in Mr. Converse's class.  Mrs. Cavanaugh is the only teacher that allows pets in her classroom.  There is one more class, Mr. Strom.  He was in the Vietnam War and on Veterans day we sent letters to Mr. Strom and Mr. Wuest's haircutter's little brother.  He can't live by himself because he saw some bad stuff while he was in the war.  So he lives with his sister. He doesn't really talk, but Mr.Wuest said he saw tears in Mike's eyes when he read our letters.  Well, do you know anyone who was in the Vietnam war?

Braces

Hello guys.  Today my title is called braces because I am going to need braces soon.  They say that I am going to need rubber bands, but no headgear.  My friend, Celeste has gotten braces in second grade and is going to need them again with headgear.  She has really bad teeth.  Well I hope that braces don't hurt too much.  If you have had braces, can you comment on it and tell me if they are really painful?

Tennis

Today I played tennis with my friend, Jessica.  Her brother had a soccer game while we were playing tennis.  Then we played games with Jack's friend's brother's dog.  he was really funny.  The dog's name was king kaid.  He was named after a restraunt that the family likes to go to.  The dog was weird his eyes were like human eyes.
The music teacher at school showed us a video of a group called naturally 7.  They make instrument sounds out of their voices it's pretty cool. 

Cramped

I have a terrible cramp right now.  Today at swimming, I was doing Butterfly and I got this cramp because I all of a sudden had used up a lot of energy.  Then for like fifteen minutes I couldn't do anything but stretch.  Jeez that hurt.  My left leg is still crampy.  my day wasn't that bad.  Mom got me signed up for Knowledge Masters.  It sounds interesting.  I still don't really know when to meet with them and what room but I'll ask Alan or someone.  There's these really weird questions like I forget what I was going to say but it's really weird do you know the anwser?

I have no idea what the title can be

today i have no idea it is a typical sunday.  and i am too tired to use capitals and stuff so you will just have to cope with me not doing it today.  but i will do it next time so don't worry.

Today is October 1st, "wow it is cold" brrrrrrrrr...
I went to swimming yesterday.  Before that, I had lost my shampoo.  It turns out, that my friend Alison(she's chinese too) had taken it and forgot to give it to me.  So then she gave it to me and I didn't have to do anything.  I have an orthodontist (I think thats how you spell it) appointment.  Apparently, I have to get braces soon.  I already have lost all of my teeth and my twelve-year old molars have come in.  All of my friends got braces in like second grade but they have to get them again.  I don't really get the point of getting braces if you have to get them again when you're older.  All of my friends that have gotten braces already haven't even lost as many teeth as I have.  The friends that haven't gotten braces alreay have really perfect teeth.  My friend, Hailey has really nice teeth, they are pearly and white.  No one has a tiger tooth just like I do.  Oh well, at least I won't have weird teeth forever.  Do you know anyone that has braces or is getting braces?

NO TITLE

Today I am very excited.  Tomorrow I get to go to camp at school.  It is called Camp Edenwood, but the program is called Camp Friendship.  At Camp Friendship you practice teamwork with your team.  You basically go on lots of ropes courses and stuff.  At the end of your day you get to try out the high ropes course.  It sounds pretty cool.  Some of my friends said it is really lame and you don't get to do much.  I don't really know but it sounds fun.  I hope some of my friends are on my team.  Tomorrow I also don't have any classes.  In the morning I have G/T reading with Mrs.Olson.  She gives alot of homework, but it's really interesting so I don't really mind doing it.  For some reason, it got really cold recently.  I said for some reason because it was really sudden it really happened in one night.  Last week, at swimming carpool, Alan started memorizing pi to 30 digits.  I told dad and he said when he was little, he could memorize it to 49 digits.  I can do it too now.  See,3.141592653589793238462795028841971693993751.  Can you do it?

today i am very mad

today wiley is still annoying.  he kicked me today.  i am walking down the hall from spanish class and his locker is open and the lock is on but he didn't shut it.  so i go walk to his locker and i shut it.  but wiley was actually across the hall talking to his friend and i just closed his locker and he yells don't close it!  but i alreay did and he gets all mean and kicks my ankle .   now my ankle is skinned and it stings whenever i touch it.this week is spirit week. spirit week is when every day if the week you get a theme to dress up as.  yesterday was mix and match day.  today is D day you get to dress up as something starting with a D.  there were alot of dads and doctors and divas and dogs. my friend was a devil and her sister was a diva and their brother was a dog. (they are triplets).  tommorow is kindergarten day and thursday is lights on day(wear white). and friday is ALWAYS Edina day!(in other words wear the edina colors green and white) the edina hornets.  i never really liked hornets i always was afraid of them because they can sting and i don't really want to get stung.
for some reason,alot of people were out sick today,like my friend hailey and another girl in choir named eva but her middle name is beril and everyone calls her beril.  to annoy her all you have to do is call her beril.
my other friend for D day was a dancer. she wore a purple leotard and she wore a little purple gauzy skirt around it and a purple leggings and purple slippers but the slippers were the kind that you were at home when you feet are too cold and you are too lazy to were socks.  i just got a brain fart i can't spell were as in you were a shirt were i just spelled it wrong like 5 times!

hmm, fun

I, Olivia am really really mad right now.  actually i'm not that mad right now but i was in the morning
at school we have something called A days and B days and on A days for language arts i have to sit next this really annoying boy named Wiley Burch.
and on B days I have to sit next to him for 2 whole periods and when he bonks himself on the head he goes dadadadadadadada until i say Wiley stop it then he repeats me and says in a annoyingly high voice stop it
and then i say wiley PLEASE stop it and he does it agin
in the end i finish all my work and he hasn't even written his name down

3rd day of school

today at reading mrs. olson said we had assembly and we went to the auditorium and listened to the 8th grade assembly.  in the end mrs. olson was wrong and we were going to the wrong assembly but she gave us passes for the whole thing and we rushed to language arts and we got to stay in the room for about 2 minutes before we went to 6th grade assembly and we had to listen to the whole thing all over again :(

first day of school

today was the first day of school at my middle school.  This year I'm in 6th grade.  This morning I was late for class because I thought that class started later than it really did.  I also got confused with my lock on my locker and it got all funny

Still In California

Hello! I'm still in california but I'm leaving today.  Today it was Sunday Streets and we rented bikes for 1 hour FREE after that we rode on the party bike and it was very very fun.  After that we ran around on the sand dunes and looked at the ocean.  then we drove to eat lunch at Pacific Catch and we walked around the park then we got some boba and went home and ordered Ikes sandwiches and we will pick them up in a little bit.

today I went to Google with my sister Tina, and my mom and I ate lunch with her at google.  after that we walked around and then we went on the subway train and stopped at powell and looked at the mall.  that mall is HUGE! it's like 10 feet tall! but we didn't buy anything and left on the L train then we stopped at 14th street and walke to Tina's apartment.  it was a good day   : )
